A: You will see Professor Habibi who is a children's doctor and specialist in respiratory medicine. Professor Habibi will listen to your concerns about your child's problem, examine your child and may order some tests. In every case, Professor Habibi will explain what he thinks is causing the problem and what tests are needed and what will be involved. For example, if Professor Habibi thinks your child may have asthma he will ask a children's nurse to do some breathing tests on your child. If he thinks your child may have a chest or lung problem, an X-ray may be required. Sometimes, blood tests may be needed, in which case an expert children's nurse will do the blood tests ensuring minimal discomfort to your child.
Professor Habibi will explain what he thinks is causing your child's problem and what tests are needed and what will be involved. The results of all tests will be available within a few days and Professor Habibi will communicate the results and send you a report, which will also be sent our GP.
